No laughing matter
Mood swings are actually pretty serious. But there are different levels.
If you’ve been diagnosed bipolar, see a psychiatrist. It is a real and serious matter, worth the attention.
And if you think you might be bipolar, get yourself tested. See a psychiatrist, and provide the information necessary to them.
Don’t worry about it - just get the information.
The good news is...you know whether you need to go that route.
Deep mood swings - from extreme dark to extreme light - are potentially something psychological that needs to be dealt with chemically. Just go and find out. Once you know what you are dealing with, the plethora of solutions from your awareness is the next step.
Then there’s the other side. For example, let’s say there’s someone who’s extra sensitive and aware. Whenever they’re going about their day, at the office, with family, in a social situation, they suddenly become extremely stimulated. Even if they walk in feeling joyous, they suddenly feel serious antagonism towards someone at the party. Suddenly they feel like they can’t breathe, or maybe they start eating something compulsively.
That’s psychic awareness, which is an extra level of feeling. It’s picking up on the habits and practices and energy of other people. It’s not bipolar, but it definitely produces a mood swing.

What to Do With Extra Awareness
What I would do in those situations - and I’ve told my clients this - is go into the restroom, close the door, and take a moment. Right then feel your feet on the floor, and sit on the bowl. Count breaths. Put one hand on your thymus and the other hand on your pubic bone.
Say hi to your body.
Lastly, flush the toilet. Flush it down! Because none of that energy belongs to you in moments of overwhelm like these. Just let it go by flushing.
And then refill yourself. Imagine a white light pouring down on you, into your crown chakra, your root chakra, all throughout your body.
This is a common prescription I give to clients. And that goes for high-flying executives and serious athletes, same as anyone else. It really works!
Apart from that there are coaching possibilities, just some tips and tricks that will help in moments of overwhelm. If you’d like to hear more let me know. Private sessions works really well for these experiences.
Again, with harsher swings there could be a need for something pharmaceutical, as well as counseling and even monitoring. So, get that bloodwork and check those neurotransmitter levels.
Wherever you are in the spectrum, know that you’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure it out yourself.
Family History and Mood
You may have also come from a family that demonstrated mood swings to you.
I know I am. I come from an Italian family, with a mother that was vocal, and always up and down in her mood.
Even a holiday would start out really good, and then suddenly the tree would be on the floor with people confronting each other.
I absorbed that. Even though members of my family, including my mother, were diagnosable I took on characteristics of what she put on display, those extreme, raging mood swings.
My dad, on the other hand, was the sullen, depressed type.
In my past, I had found I could be a rager, and sometimes I could be quiet and blue.
With personal work, I live more balanced and aware and I catch myself before and choose a different action.
Feeling Your Mood With Conscious Awareness
With mood, consider some simple questions.
Who are you being? What are you being? What lie are you buying into?
Simple questions, answered honestly, will bring you back to your true life, even in moments where you’re jostled by things around you. And there are multiple further tools I will gladly show you.
