What Does Healing Actually Feel Like?
May 19, 2025
Healing is not always light beams and breakthroughs.
Sometimes it’s heavy. Sometimes it’s quiet. Sometimes, it’s just… different.
Years ago, a woman sat across from me during a Soul Session, tears silently rolling down her cheeks. “I thought I’d feel... better,” she said. “But instead I feel raw. I feel like I’ve opened a door I can’t close.”
I nodded.
“You didn’t open a door,” I told her. “You walked through one. And that’s what healing actually feels like.”
It’s not always euphoric or peaceful at first.
Sometimes it feels like fog. Like slowness. Like sleeping more than usual or crying during your morning walk.
Sometimes it’s a rage you’ve never allowed yourself to feel.
Sometimes it’s laughter in the middle of the pain.
Healing is messy. It’s holy. It’s confusing. It’s clarifying.
It is not linear. It is not predictable.
And it is working, even when you can’t see it yet.
When we experience trauma, our systems learn to prioritize survival over wholeness.
We dissociate. We adapt. We perfect. We avoid.
But eventually, your soul taps on your shoulder and says:
“It’s time.”
That’s when the real work begins.
And here’s the thing:
You don’t need to walk through it alone.
That’s what Soul Sessions are for.
They’re not about fixing. They’re about remembering. Reclaiming.
Guiding you back to you — even when “you” feels unfamiliar right now.
If your soul has been whispering lately,
If your body feels like it’s holding a truth it’s ready to release,
If you’ve been wondering, “Is it time?” —
The answer might already be in your body’s yes.
And if your soul is calling, I am here — how can I help tend the ebbs and flows of your healing?
With warmth and reverence,
