Mental Health Awareness Month

embodiment energetic & intuitive healing roar technique somatic trauma healing soulful self-reclamation May 06, 2025

When I was younger, I believed healing happened in the mind.

I went to therapy. I read all the books. I talked things through, again and again, until I could recite my trauma like a story with neat edges.

But inside, I was still fragmented. My body told the truth that my words couldn’t.

The truth was:

I was still defending, disconnecting, denying, and dissociating — what I now call the Four Ds. They were brilliant survival strategies, forged in fire.

But they weren’t built for thriving.

This May — Mental Health Awareness Month — I want to offer something different. Something deeper. Not more intellectual strategies or mindset shifts.

But a radical invitation:

💫 Come home to your body. 💫

Your body remembers everything your mind tries to forget.
And that’s not a punishment — it’s a gift.
Because healing, real healing, happens through the body.

In my book, The Body of Change, I share not only my personal story, but the practices and truths that helped me — and countless others — transform survival into soulful aliveness.

You’ll meet the ROAR® Technique, a powerful somatic process that helps move trauma out of the body. You’ll discover why numbness isn’t a flaw — it’s a clue.
You’ll learn how gratitude, even for the tiniest things, becomes a doorway back to joy.

But most importantly:
You’ll begin to trust that your body is not betraying you — it’s guiding you.

Too many people live outside of themselves.
Cut off from their own hearts.
Managing symptoms, pushing through, surviving.

This month, I want to say clearly: There is another way. And it’s available to you now.

You don’t need to be perfect.
You don’t need to remember everything.
You just need to begin.
With breath.
With presence.
With a willingness to come back to yourself, one loving step at a time.

This book isn’t just a resource. It’s a reclamation.
Of your body.
Your power.
Your peace.

🕊️ If your heart whispered “yes” while reading this, I hope you’ll receive it.
